Hood River Lavender Farms is committed to Certified Organic
growing practices, with an emphasis on sustainability. Our
Lavender as well as our Lavender essential oil are listed
as certified organic from Oregon Tilth, a leader in organic certification. We also are certified organic for growing and distillation of Rosemary essential oil.
We make every effort to impact the environment in a positive way, including composting our spent Lavender and harvesting by hand without petroleum-powered machinery. We use
earth-enhancing fertilizers and continue to look
for additional practices that provide the best outcomes for the human and natural environments both now and into the
indefinite future for our children and our childrens' children.
We know that decisions made today determine the future
of our planet and our children's future.
More than a marketing term, "organic" stands for the way agricultural products are grown. When consumers choose organic foods or such organic non-food products as clothing, flowers and personal care items, they are voting for an agricultural production system that replenishes and maintains soil fertility, eliminates the use of toxic and persistent pesticides and fertilizers, and builds biologically diverse agriculture. This is organic.
